Cousino Participates in University of Michigan 7 on 7 Passing League Tournament
Members of the Cousino Patriots football team took part in a 7 on 7 tournament hosted by the University of Michigan football program in Ann Arbor. The tournament was two days long with the first day dedicated to pool play positioning and the second day devoted to the double elimination tournament itself.
The Patriots started strong winning their first four pool play games, but ended the first day with a 4-2 record. In the elimination rounds the Pats did not fare so well, losing their first two games. The tournament was a great experience for the team as they learned quite a bit about the plays, their fellow players, and the program in general. Hopefully, the team will respond and be successful in upcoming tournaments and the upcoming football season.

National Athletic Testing System for NCAA Initial Eligibility
The National Athletic Testing System is a web site where players and parents can calculate their academic scores, GPA, and testing scores such as ACT and SAT. The site also provides a schedule of the Michigan area skills testing combines.
If you want to play football at any NCAA Division I or II university as a freshman you must register and be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center. The NATS Academic Alert web site is a link where parents and players can calculate their GPA and core course requirements and follow their progress toward NCAA initial eligibility.

High School Athletics Physicals for 2009/2010 School Year
If you are planning on playing any high school sport during the 2009-2010 school year, you must have a physical on file dated AFTER April 15, 2009 for the 2009 season signed and dated by a doctor, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner.
Typically, the physical exam will be conducted at various stations set up in the gym and will include:
ü Measurement of height and weight
ü Measurement of blood pressure and pulse
ü A musculo-skeletal exam including screening of flexibility and scoliosis
ü Evaluation of heart, chest and lungs
ü Evaluation of ear, nose and throat
ü Hernia exam for malesAs dates become available for scheduled physical examinations at area schools, they will be posted on this site.

Sideliners Meeting MinutesProgram Ad forms for the football program are due by the middle of July.
Football season is here so it is now time to mark your calendar with the following dates…..
· Mandatory parents meeting on Monday, July 27th at 7:00p at the football stadium. Each sport has to have one mandatory meeting and this is our football mandatory meeting. We will be selling apparel at this meeting so if your player would also like to attend to purchase apparel they are welcome. We have some really neat new items for the 2009 season. We will also be handing out football frenzy tickets along with flyers with information about the picnic, car decals, pancake breakfast, two-a-day lunch, etc.
· Deadline for the football program ads was June 10th. We will extend the deadline until the middle of July so please hurry and get your ads in and also send in ads from businesses you frequent.
· Family/Team Picnic – August 15th
· Pancake Breakfast – August 22nd
· Banquet – November 24th
Your son should be pre-selling 10 entertainment books beginning NOW. Forms were sent home with each player. Now is the time to start selling these books.

2010 Entertainment Books are on sale now. Each player is responsible for selling 10 entertainment books. As part of the current pre-sale special, the $20 price of the 2010 Entertainment Book will also include a 2009 book. That's two for the price of one, which is a great deal considering there is still five month left in the current 2009 Entertainment book.
So, to get a 2009 and 2010 book, see a football player and order yours today. When you order, you can receive the 2009 book immediately and you will receive he 2010 book when they are published in August.
